Terms
Terms of use
These are the terms for using CultureCanary (also called Canary). We've kept them short and plain. If anything isn't clear, email hello@theworkshopper.com.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
The short version
- CultureCanary is free to use right now.
- Only add people to a flock who would expect to hear from you.
- Never try to work out who gave which answer.
- It supports your team; it doesn’t replace HR, legal or professional advice.
- You can stop using it and delete everything at any time.
Who can use CultureCanary
You need to be 18 or over to create an account. By creating one, you confirm that you are.
People added to a flock don't need an account to check in.
What CultureCanary is, and isn't
CultureCanary is a team health tool. It helps team leads, Scrum Masters and coaches run Pulse Checks and try small experiments and activities that keep the human side of work strong.
It is not an HR system, and it doesn't replace professional HR, legal, medical or management advice. The decisions you make with what you see in CultureCanary are yours.
Your account
- Keep your login details to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account and your flocks.
Adding people to a flock
When you add someone, CultureCanary emails them Pulse Check links and results. So please:
- only add people who are part of the team, and who would expect to hear from you
- use their work email address where you can
- remove people who have left the team
You're responsible for having a good reason to add each person. How we treat their details is set out in our Privacy policy.
Anonymity
Pulse Check answers are anonymous, and results only show once at least 3 people have checked in. This is what makes people comfortable being honest.
You agree not to try to work out who gave which answer, for example by asking people what they said, by running checks with too few people on purpose, or by any other means. This matters to us, and it should matter to your team.
Please don't
- use CultureCanary to watch, rank or single out individual people
- copy or scrape content or data from it automatically
- try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or interfere with how it runs
- pretend to be someone else, or send people messages they didn't sign up for
- use it for anything unlawful
If someone misuses CultureCanary, we may suspend or close their account.
Our content
The experiments, activities, insights and tips in CultureCanary are ours. You're welcome to use them with your teams. Please don't republish or sell them as your own.
Pricing
CultureCanary is free to use right now. We plan to add paid features later. When we do, we'll be clear about what stays free, and we'll give you fair notice before anything changes for you.
Availability
We're a small product and we're still building. We'll do our best to keep CultureCanary running well, but things may occasionally break or change, and we can't promise it will always be available.
Liability
CultureCanary is provided as it is. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded.
As far as the law allows, theWorkshopper isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you or your team make based on what you see in CultureCanary.
Ending things
You can stop using CultureCanary at any time. Deleting your account (in Profile) deletes your flocks and their history too. No notice period, no questions.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before the change takes effect. Small updates just get a new date at the top.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
